Wine Cellar · what to drink, and when

At a Glance

Drink Next

The bottles whose windows close soonest, among those ready to drink now.

Cellar

Drinking Windows Ahead

How many of your bottles are inside their drinking window in each year, from this one on. A bar that shrinks is bottles running out of time.

Every bar names its wines when you point at it — tap on a touch screen — and the windows themselves are in the table above.

Add a Wine

One row per wine; the bottle count says how many you have. Only the name is required — instead to add several at once.

Opened a Bottle

Paste a List of Wines

One wine per line, pasted straight from a chat or a spreadsheet: the table Claude writes (Wine · Approx. value · Drink window · Verdict), or a CSV with a header row — Wine, Region, Grape, Bottles, Value, Window, Where, in any order. Each wine starts with its vintage (2019 Albret Lastra Reserva, or NV). A Status or Verdict column is not stored: the app works the status out from the window, so it stays right as the years go by. Colour is guessed from the grape — check it below.

Settings

Kept when you start again — clearing the sample wines is starting fresh with real bottles, not asking to lose the way you set the app up.

Back Up & Restore

One JSON file holding every wine, every opened bottle and your settings — a copy you keep, independent of this browser and of any account. If you don’t sign in to sync, clearing your browser data is the one thing that will lose your cellar.

Every wine, and every opened bottle, as a spreadsheet — all of them, whatever the table is showing. It is a one-way door: the CSV is for reading elsewhere, and Restore reads the JSON above, never this.

Restoring replaces everything in this browser. You are told what the file holds and asked to confirm first.

Start Again

Deletes every wine and every opened bottle. Your settings and your theme are kept.

Share a Read-Only Link

Anyone opening this link sees the wines you pick, with no way to change them and no sign-in. Everything travels inside the link itself — nothing is uploaded anywhere, and it doesn't touch whatever they have saved in their own browser.

Which Wines

Nothing is deleted — this only decides what rides in the link. The figures in it are worked out from those wines alone, so a trimmed link shows a smaller cellar than yours, and whoever opens it is told so.

What to Include

Wines, bottles, values and windows ride either way: they are what the link exists to show. Notes and locations are yours, which is why they stay behind unless you tick the box.

Your Link

This is a snapshot, frozen as it looks right now — later edits won't appear, so send a fresh link when the cellar changes. There is no way to withdraw one once sent, and whoever holds it can read everything inside it.

Find

Every wine — by its name, vintage, region, grape, where it is or its notes — and every opened bottle. A wine opens straight into its record.
