Strokes on the Day

What everyone's handicap comes to at one course, off one set of tees, in one format — the sheet you write out before you tee off.

Find

Every golfer, every course and set of tees, and every round — by its course, its date or the note you left on it. A round opens straight into its card.

The League Handicap

The calculation the app shows first, and the one the leaderboard is ranked on. It applies to every golfer here — one rule, so the table compares like with like. The official World Handicap System figure is always worked out alongside it and never changes.

The Calculation

Which rounds it looks at, and what it does with them.

The Official Caps

Parts of the WHS calculation you can switch off to see the plain averaging underneath. Neither touches the league handicap.

Golfers & Courses

Golfers

Each golfer keeps their own rounds and their own handicap. Courses are shared between everyone.

Courses

A course needs a rating and a slope for each set of tees — both are printed on the scorecard. The rating is the score a scratch golfer is expected to shoot; the slope (55–155, usually near 113) is how much harder it plays for everyone else.

Share a Read-Only Link

Anyone opening this link sees the handicaps you pick, with no way to change them and no sign-in. The rounds travel inside the link itself — nothing is uploaded anywhere, and opening it doesn't touch whatever they have saved in their own browser.

Which Golfers

Pick more than one and the link opens on the leaderboard. The courses their rounds were played on come along automatically — a score means nothing without the rating and slope it was worked out from.

How Many Rounds

Nothing is deleted — this only decides how much of your history rides in the link, which is what keeps a long one sendable. A trimmed link shows trimmed figures: both handicaps are worked out from the rounds inside it, so they can differ from the ones on your screen. Whoever opens it is told which window they are looking at.

Your Link

This is a snapshot, frozen as it looks right now — rounds logged later won't appear, so send a fresh link when the numbers move. There is no way to withdraw one once sent, so treat it like emailing a spreadsheet. The league rule rides along, because it is what these figures were worked out with; nothing identifying does — no email, no account, not even your theme.

Back Up & Restore

One JSON file holding every golfer, course, round and setting — a copy you keep, independent of this browser and of any Google account. With no account required to use the app, clearing your browser data is the one thing that will lose your history.

Every round as a spreadsheet, for anyone who keeps their handicap in one — every golfer, with the differential the app worked out beside each score. It is a one-way door: the CSV is for reading and charting elsewhere, and Restore reads the JSON above, never this.

Restoring replaces everything in this browser. You are shown what the file holds and asked to confirm first — and if you are signed in, the restored copy becomes the one your other devices get.

Start Again

Deletes every round, course and golfer. The league rule and your theme are kept.
